OutdoorDads is heading out on our monthly hike this coming fourth Saturday of the month (Jan 22), and you and your favorite little person(s) are invited. We’ll hike a short and scenic trail to a beyoootiful and seldom-seen waterfall in the Gorge, Elowah Falls. (See the web link below for a nice photo.) While we’re primarily a dad’s group, moms are also welcome on our outings.
The out and back trail to Elowah is a modest 1.5 miles round trip, with about 600 feet of total elevation gain. Be prepared to carry your kiddo or have them walk, as strollers don’t work so well on this sometimes narrow and muddy trail. There’s two forks in the trail – bear left at each one. While the hike is pretty well sheltered from Gorge winds, it is January, so be prepared for most any sort of weather. Your hike leader is Alex Krider.
For complete hike details, a photo, driving directions to the trailhead and more, please see the outings page on the OutdoorDads web site:
If you’d like to go on this hike, all you need to do is show up on Saturday morning at the trailhead and be ready to hike at 11:00 sharp. There’s no need to sign up in advance, RSVP, or any of that stuff. (As leaving the house with a kid always takes more time then you think, please plan for this on Saturday morning.)
