Bimaran canoe tour of Smith and Bybee Wetlands

Yesterday Patrick and I participated in a wonderful family activity with Metro’s resident naturalist, James Davis. We both did something we had never been done before: been out on water (save for me a go at sea-dooing some years ago in California). A bimaran canoe is two canoes strapped together by boards, and it makes it a very stable ride for small kids. We joined Laura and Jasper from Stag Beetle Power to look for birds, beavers, and water bugs at an unusually high water Smith and Bybee Wetlands (pictures).
