One day I mentioned to Sara (The Wandering Herpetologist) through Twitter that it would be fun if I could get her to take my son out “herping” at Tryon Creek State Park, where she volunteers. She replied with “tell me when.” Some friends joined us and we spent a few hours in the park on November 6th, and here’s our tally:
Oregon Ensatina (Ensatina eschscholtzii oregonensis) – 7
Western Redback Salamander (Plethodon vehiculum) – 2
Pacific Giant Salamander (Dicamptodon tenebrosus) – 1 larva
Centipedes, Millipedes, Beetles, Snails, Spiders, and Slugs
Thank you, Sara!
