The Bug Chicks

Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker are entomologists turned environmental educators who have turned their passion for nature and teaching about bugs into what looks like a fun experience: The Bug Chicks. Laura and Jasper got to see them at Leach Botanical Garden back in October, and now they are currently doing a series of presentations at Portland libraries.

OPB’s EarthFix just profiled the duo in “For the Love of Bugs: Educators Make Insects Their Cause,” with the following video:

When I watched the video with Patrick his attention was completely taken, and he got super excited when I told him that they would be at a library near us in December. Here’s where they will be:

Saturday, December 3, 10:30 am-12 pm at the Sellwood-Moreland Library
Friday, December 9, 4-5:30 pm at the Rockwood Library
Friday, December 16, 4-5:30 pm at the Midland Library
Wednesday, December 21, 11 am -12:30 pm at the Hillsdale Library
Wednesday, December 28, 3-4:30 pm at the Holgate Library
