The Friends of Tryon Creek 2012 Video Contest
Portland, Oregon – The Friends of Tryon Creek will kick off their video contest on the theme “Why I Love Tryon Creek State Natural Area” on Wednesday, August 1st, 2012. The contest will promote Tryon Creek and the importance of connecting to the natural world. The contest is open to the public and a prize package valued at $370 featuring items from contest sponsors Columbia Sportswear, REI, Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery, and Voodoo Doughnut will be awarded to the winner.
“As we continually look for ways to connect people to this special place, the idea of a video contest seemed like a great way to include new voices in the mix and reinforce the community’s overwhelming commitment to Tryon Creek”, said David Cohen, Executive Director for the Friends. “We look forward to the creative ways our audience will express their personal connection to Tryon Creek.”
The contest starts Wednesday, August 1st, and closes on Wednesday, October 31st. The Grand Prize package includes two Elite One Technical daypacks, each valued at $125, by Columbia Sportswear; a $50 gift certificate from REI; a $25 gift certificate from Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewing; a $20 gift certificate from Voodoo Doughnut; and a copy of Wild in the City: Exploring the Intertwine.
