Great Backyard Bird Count 2013

In mid-February, Patrick counted birds in our backyard for a short period of time to contribute to data collected through the annual Great Backyard Bird Count:

We saw Song Sparrows, Black-capped Chickadees, Stellar’s Jays, a Scrub Jay, Dark-eyed Juncos, a Varied Thrush, crows, a single, unidentified hummingbird, a Spotted Towhee, and a Savannah Sparrow. Want to learn about bird species that visit your yard, All About Birds is an awesome online resource.

This is always a great opportunity to enjoy nature and participate in something larger than yourself. See our participation from previous years here. Visit the GBBC website to learn about how you can participate next year!
