Monday thought of the week: be present

A thought:

One of the greatest gifts we can give our kids is also one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves—being present. Try this. Take your child outside in the backyard or to the nearest park. Sit down somewhere, clear your head of any thoughts and consciously open up all your senses. Invite your young companion to do the same. Focus your attention solely on observing. How many different kinds of birds can you hear? What color of blue is the sky? How many different critters can you find under a log? Simply bearing witness will open a whole new world.

Loved it! I will copy this thought and copyit to my class’ wiki so that my parents will read it.
