Monday thought of the week: boredom will be banished

A thought:

For children in particular there is another reason why boredom will be banished in a wood or a field or on a beach – as long as they have the freedom to relate to that environment at will. Here, no toys or equipment are needed in order to have a good time. If not inhibited by adults’ warnings of danger or dirt, children will sense the call of hills to be rolled down, of rocks and trees to be climbed, of undergrowth to hide in. Nature stimulates the imagination.
