Wednesday photo of the week: my little (or big?) eaglet

This week’s photo comes a day early, because I love it and just want to share it:

Giant bald eagle best at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

This giant sculpture of a bald eagle’s nest rests at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge in Sherwood, south of Portland off of Highway 99, and was made by volunteers and friends of the refuge starting in September. Visitors are encouraged to continue adding sticks to it. What a fabulous idea for engagement with nature!

  1. Thanks for the shout out, Michael. I’ve heard that a lot of families have been taking their Christmas Card photos in the nest. We are so glad that people are enjoying the sculpture and interacting with nature.

I am so glad you posted this. Henry will love stopping by and playing bird for a bit. 🙂
