Nature is the ideal domain for unstructured play. It is a landscape of treasures and wonder ready to be explored by children. Young ones’ imaginations are magically vivid; a patch of woods transforms into an explorer’s discovery, a meadow becomes a sprawling desert with camels and cactuses. There are no limits to how children’s creativity can meld with the natural world.
