Rainy day walk at the Audubon Society of Portland

There was no school on Friday, so we needed something to do to make the day more interesting than sitting around the house. I had a reason to visit the Audubon Society of Portland’s offices,* so we decided to head there and go for a walk on the trails in their beautiful nature sanctuary. A little rain made for a an enjoyable fall stroll. Enjoy the photos.

* I donated one of my Children at Nature Play signs to the silent auction portion of their annual Wild Arts Festival later this month.

Patrick says that this tree is called the “duck tree” by camp staff at Audubon – the eye is just under where the trunk splits and the beak points to the right
